The other day when I was looking at all the cold medicine at Stop and Shop, I heard something familiar being played on the PA system, and then I realized what it was.
When I was younger and was dragged from store to store, and errand to errand with my mother, she always thought it was fun to sing out loud, and not quietly either. She actually loved how much it bothered me. One thing she would often sing, especially if some new store was being built, or if some new development was bulldozing its way in, was this:
“They took away the trees….and they put in a parking lot!!!”
its definately an old song, and some lady was singing it when I heard it on the PA in Stop & Shop. I looked it up in google, and the Counting Crows kept coming up. Some song called “Taxi”
anyone know? One thing I do know is that I cringed when I heard it.
